National Governing Body Courses
Individuals may wish to gain a nationally recognised qualification through the sport's National Governing Body.
Coaching in sport in an incredibly rewarding way to spend time. The community sport sector relies heavily on volunteer coaches to keep clubs going, and these volunteer coaches play a vital role in player development whether it be at a Saturday morning warm up session with kids who just love to be there to see their mates, or spotting talent in a youngster who has the potential to go on to become a household name.
The first step is to find out more about your sport and what a coach is required to do in your sport. This information is easy to find – all you need to do is click onto the National Governing Body (NGB) website for your sport. The NGB will have vast amounts of information on coaching in their particular sport.
Link4Life works in partnership with a number of National Governing Body Courses locally and sometimes host courses within the borough.
